At Hermes Maritime, we know that imported vehicles bound for North Queensland markets are off-loaded in Brisbane and then transported by road along the Bruce Highway. Apart from the CO2 footprint that this arrangement generates, it is expensive and subjects the vehicles to the risk of suffering the almost unavoidable damage from stone chips and scratches inherent in this mode of transport.
To respond to the current less-than-ideal situation, we have set aside the tween deck of our ship for the carriage of vehicles. This stowage will afford protection from the weather and the elements as well as minimizing the risk of damage.
